Moving on from school

Chartered Financial Planner, Loretta Mooney went back to school last week and spent the morning at Altrincham Grammar school.

As part of her role as Education Champion for the Chartered Institute of Insurers (CII), Loretta was delighted to be invited to Altrincham Grammar School to speak to students and give them some tips in a ‘moving on from school’ session. The session was designed to help students understand the importance of managing their finances. The session covered some really important skills such as understanding a pay slip, calculating gross and net income and understanding how the government uses tax and national insurance to fund public services.

The CII is a professional body with a Royal Charter dedicated to building public trust in the insurance and financial planning profession. By working alongside them to deliver this worthwhile programme Loretta hopes to inspire confidence in the next generation to manage their finances and plan for the future they aspire to. After all it’s never too early to start taking control of your finances and this programme is a fantastic way to give something back and help young people as they start their journey to adulthood and begin their careers. It might even encourage a few to join the profession!

Thank you to all of the students that took part and we wish you all the best of luck with your future goals and aspirations!
